Planning for the school holidays is a task that our Lifestyle Managers take very seriously to ensure that the little people in our members lives have something to look forward to during their school holiday break, especially if mum and dad are juggling work and activities.

Accoutrement in Mosman is well known for their cooking classes but you may not know they offer fabulous cooking classes for children.  Classes are offered for different ages and will learn kitchen skills and will have a hands on experience of cooking a menu while having fun.  They get lots to eat and will bring home some yummy treats for the family to enjoy.

Coco Chocolate at Mosman has a yummy class for children aged between 8 to 16 years, that will be talked about for weeks.  The children will learn to hand temper on marble and make a selection of chocolates such as freckles, chocolate bars and lollypops to name a few! All children go home with a goody bag of the treats they made and a certificate to show off.

The Sydney Chocolate School host fun chocolate themed birthday parties, with a minimum of 6 participants and catering for up to 50 children, the parties are normally hosted from 2 – 2.30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Pizza Making Class – The Grounds experienced team will bring the fun teaching your kids how to make their own pizza.  They will learn how to stretch their pizza dough, get creative, make their own pizza and then eat their own creation. Suitable for children between 4 – 12 years of age.

Lego Brick Workshop – The Bricks 4 KIDZ workshop is designed to introduce motorised model building to children in a fun and engaging way.  The kids will engage with specially-created motorised Bricks 4 Kidz models designed by engineers and architects, interact with LEGO games and have plenty of time for creative fun for children aged 5 – 12 years of age.

Gardening Workshop – to celebrate the home entertainment release of Peter Rabbit this June, The Grounds’ in-house horticulturist is teaming up with Peter Rabbit and friends for a school holidays vegetable gardening workshop.  Little ones will get their hands dirty planting a variety of seedlings while learning how to care and nurture their very own little gardens to take home.

Introduction to Yoga Class – Kids Yoga is a fun and incredibly beneficial activity children of 4 – 8 years of age.  Meg Hutchison’s Classes comprise of movement with an emphasis on games, partner exercises and short meditations to help them to develop coordination, flexibility and strength as well as still their minds.

Shopping Bag decorating – Bring your kids to as The Grounds team teach them how to print / decorate fabric shopping bags with brushes and vegetable fruit stencils.  Suitable for 4 – 12 years of age.

Why not make it a night out at The Grounds and join the festivities on Family Night in the Garden on Saturday 14th July.  The evening kicks off at 5pm with entertainment from your favourite characters, children’s games, face paining and non-stop dancing.  The Garden Bar will be serving dinner for your family, with a menu of classic burgers, fresh juices, smoothies and cocktails for the big kids.  Family ticket $40 for the family (2 adults, 2 children).

Big Music Holiday Rock Camp 4-day fun filled music program, kids work in small groups with professional musicians learning to play 5 instruments each day – guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and vocals. At the end of the week the kids put on an awesome performance with in front of family and friends.  The programs are designed with kids aged from 6 – 17 in mind and catering for all levels of musical experience.  The emphasis of the program is fun and participation in playing and performing popular music with other kids. No musical experience required.

Would your child or teen fancy a bit of royalty these winter holidays? So why not send them to one of Applause Musical Theatre Academy’s two-day (K-2) or three-day (Years 3-6 and Years 6-11) “Royal” holiday workshops? Budding performers will have a right royal old time singing and dancing to songs from fun, popular musicals fit for Kings and Queens. Script-work (from Year 3 and up) and acting games to improve confidence, focus and communication skills are included too. Trust us, after the performance on the last day each performer will leave singing happily ever after! Crowns & Tiaras permitted!

A vacation care program with a difference! Bop till you Drop programs are educational with professional teachers who gently encourage and teach your child new skills in dancing, singing, acting, plus craft, cooking and science to break up the action packed day. There are 6 classes per day, each class runs for 45 minutes. This program is aimed at building self-esteem in your child. They will also perform in a concert and receive a certificate on the last day. The concert is an important part to building confidence and their public speaking skills. You will be so proud of their accomplishments.

Australian Museum Curator for a Day – a full day workshop allowing children to discover the wonders of the museum collections. For one whole day, kids will delve into the museum collections, learn the science of conservation and the art of taxidermy before getting creative with the cultural programming staff who will share stories, games and art activities.
