The Centennial Hotel, Woollahra

Seeking a venue for a grown up drink after work or to meet friends on the weekend, then the new look Centennial is just the place.  Redesigned by hospitality interior design firm, Luchetti Krelle.

The newly re-opened Hotel Centennial in Woollahra has been transformed into an elegant space that is reminiscent of regal country estate living room.  With Justin North (ex-Becasse) leading the kitchen as Executive Chef, the menu has a Modern Australian flavour with both Italian and European influences or make a date on Sunday night for the weekly roast.

The team at The Centennial must be doing something right with solid bookings for both the family-friendly lunchtime period and the evenings.  If you are looking for a casual brasserie menu, dine at the high table in the main bar.  A space designed to offer patrons a shared table to sit if dining on their own or as one group.

The Centennial3You can find out what they will be serving that night on The High Table tumblr at 9am each day or simply turn up and be surprised.  $2 from every meal served is donated to Holdsworth Community, Woollahra.  Sunday lunch from 12noon –  4 pm and Monday – Thursday evenings from 6 – 10 pm.  The next time your looking for an elegant dining room setting for a group dinner, make a reservation at the High table.

The Centennial2The living room feel and friendly nature of the staff provides a real home coming feel each time you return.  We have now had the pleasure of sampling the delights of the Centennial menu on three occasions and have to say the stand out dishes include; the Sunday roast, wood fired flat breads, Holmbrae chicken schnitzel, herb & Parmesan crumbs, cauliflower, cucumber & fennel salad or to share the 5 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder.
