Vivid Sydney has become an internationally acclaimed and recognised event with visitors from all over the world coming to see our great city sparkle. For 23 nights during Vivid Sydney, the cityscape becomes a kaleidoscope of colour. This year, the light show incorporates 62 pillars of light and interactive sequencing, creating an unparalleled viewing experience.
This year, Vivid displays, light installations and talks will span from Darling Harbout to the Rocks, Circular Quay via Barangaroo, the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Opera House, to Luna Park and Taronga Zoo across the bridge.
Vivid Dining at Bennelong
Whether you are seeing a Vivid Live show at The House, or simply planning on taking a walk after dinner, you can enjoy pre-Vivid dining of a two or three course menu in The Restaurant. After dinner, head upstairs to Bennelong Bar for a cocktail overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Vivid Dining at Quay
Take in the sights and lights of Vivid with front row seats to see the lighting of the Opera House sails, and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Quay’s six and ten course menus will be available throughout the Vivid festival. To finish your evening, take a stroll through Circular Quay.
Vivid Dining ARIA
Matt Moran’s awarded harbourside restaurant is perfect location for fine-diners to soak up the Vivid ambience. From the main dining room, you will be spoilt with views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. The local produce-driven menu with wintery staples and extensive wine list will set you up for a night of vibrant exploration.
Vivid Dining at Cafe Sydney
Cafe Sydney is at the heart of the Vivid action, with stunning views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. This year, Chinese-American visual artist and filmmaker Andrew Thomas Huang’s Austral Flora Ballet will take over the iconic sails of the Sydney Opera House with a hypnotic fusion of contemporary dance and motion-capture technology that showcases a lush and visceral projected artwork of dancing digital sculptures inspired by Australia’s native floral.
Customs House will come alive with award-winning creative studio Spinifex Group’s Under the Harbour, a surreal underwater encounter that will delight children and adults alike as its splashed across the façade of the building.
Vivid Dining at Bar Patron
Overlooking Circular Quay, Bar Patron is one of the best places to kick off a night at Vivid. Enjoy dining from the à la carte or from a three-course Vivid set menu ($35) available from the early opening time of 5pm-6pm. Added to the mix are half price, classic margaritas and complimentary chips and salsa throughout happy hour (4pm-6pm). Yes, please!
Vivid Dining at The Squires Landing
The Squire’s Landing upstairs Tower Room and restaurant some of the most spectacular views of Vivid in Sydney and bookings are a must throughout Vivid. All dinner reservations from 24 May – 15 June will be offered a set menu or the downstairs Forecourt and Brewhouse are walk-in only.
Vivid Dining at The Glenmore
Boasting a rooftop set above The Rocks skyline, The Glenmore’s uninterrupted views are one of the most popular locations to take in the beauty of Vivid. The delicious pub fare and range of beers on tap provide the perfect alfresco dining for a Vivid dinner.
Vivid at Hotel Palisade
Located on the fourth and fifth floors of Hotel Palisade, Henry Deane takes in 180-degree views of Sydney Harbour. The floor to ceiling windows surrounding the bar will ensure that you can see the harbour lights. The beautifully styled interiors, contemporary cocktails and shared plate menu are all the makings of a great Vivid night out.
Vivid at Blu Bar
Marvel at the wonderland of light art floating high inthe sky on level 36 of the Shangri La Sydney. The talented mixologists will take you on a vibrant journey with Vivid-esque light up cocktails, for your colourful pleasure. Order two Vivid-inspired ‘Glow’ cocktails and receive a complimentary share plate.

Vivid at Luna Park
Vivid Sydney’s dazzling Light Walk extends to Luna Park Sydney once again, where the iconic amusement park comes alive with brilliant shapes, patterns and colours that light the Midway promenade and enhance high-octane rides such as the new family thrill ride – Volaré.
Enjoy dining from a choice of venues – Altum Restaurant, The Deck Bar, The Hungry Horse or Helter Skelter.
Spirit of Fun
Spirit of Fun is a dramatic and emotive son et lumière celebrating the history and magic of Luna Park. A grand projection on Coney Island brings to life the artworks, characters and soul of the park and opens a window to its future of fun.
A Kaleidoscopic Tale
Experience an explosion of colour, light and music as A Kaleidoscopic Tale illuminates more than 3,000 LED lights on the Ferris Wheel every night to reveal the many facets of Luna Park. It is a tale woven into the fabric of Sydney’s psyche; perhaps even part of your story was written here.
Street Performers
The Midway will come to life with Street Performers roving throughout the night, complete with LED-lit costumes exclusive to Vivid Sydney!

Vivid at Taronga Zoo
Lights for the Wild at Taronga Zoo. Your journey begins at Taronga’s heritage-listed main entrance—brought to life with our dazzling and moving animal projection show. Walk through the gates and explore the illuminated trail that winds through the stunning grounds of Taronga Zoo Sydney, showcasing new awe-inspiring giant multimedia light sculptures: meet the magnificent Sumatran Tiger and her new gorgeous tiger cubs, a fearsome pride of Lions and a Koala set against the spectacular Sydney Harbour awash in Vivid lights. Back this year is also the brightly coloured Marine Turtle, a swarm of tiny buzzing bees and our larger-than-life gorilla family – plus a whole cast of other captivating creatures that will sparkle in the night.
This year each of our incredible installations and light sculptures tell a fascinating story about our wildlife conservation. At Taronga we believe in a world where wild species make a comeback.
