Founded by Andrea Wilson, Managing Director, the company was established to specialise in the management of self-contained luxury holiday houses and services. Over the years the business has grown to focus on short stay executive and family retreats, with Andrea and her team now representing more than 60 fully managed luxury short stay country and coastal retreats in Victoria.
Andrea has 14 years’ industry experience in the Tourism and Leisure sector. As a passionate advocate for the short stay and holiday rental industry, Andrea is currently an Accommodation Policy Committee member of the Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC), Past Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the national industry body, the Holiday Rental Industry Association (HRIA) and Committee Member of Victorian Accommodation Industry Association (VicAIA).

When we sat down with Andrea, we asked where did the name Holiday Shacks come from?
Holiday Shacks is a term given to Australian holiday houses almost a century ago. “The Shack” as it was soon referred to, soon became the treasured iconic symbol of family holiday memories.
In Victoria, the Mornington Peninsula began the trend for more up market holiday houses, beginning in Sorrento, the site of Victoria’s first European settlement in 1803 at Sullivan Bay. Sorrento and then Portsea fast became the established playground of the holidaying rich and famous showcased by the magnificent holiday mansions, which today remain along the southern shorelines.
In recent years, development and growth on the Mornington Peninsula has seen the emergence of luxury coastal and rural holiday homes. Holiday Shacks is extremely honoured to be able to offer guests the very best holiday rental and short term accommodation on the Mornington Peninsula
